This weekend my I went down to DC to take in a Washington Nationals game with my brother Chris. We had some great seats on the mezzanine level, and it was a good game — the crowd was super-pumped, and the Nationals looked super-sharp. Of course, every win for the Nationals is another win the Phillies have to make up...

This morning, Chris and I took a walk down to the National Gallery to see the new installation by Andy Goldsworthy. Along the way we walked through the Capital Pride Festival, which was a stunning example of how people can be their own worst enemies — for some reason, the festival's most prominent sponsor was a brand of anal lube. Anyway, the Goldsworthy was fantastic — it's a pity that visitors can't get right up next to it . I'm always amazed that Goldsworthy doesn't have a higher profile, as his work can appeal to the layman and the intellectual alike. Then again, the intellectuals probably hate that.
